WARSAW ISAC CYTOMETRY WORKSHOP 2017
Warsaw ISAC Cytometry Workshop in May 12 – 14, 2017 brought new experience to every cytometrist.
In these three days we learned many things from sample preparation and acquiring data to analysis. Under the group of specialists from all over the world we went through series of lectures and practical wet-labs, where we acquired new approaches to handling samples, different cytometers and various softwares for data acquiring and advanced analysis.
In wet-labs we understood that it is very important to prevent failures but maybe even more to be able to find these errors retrospectively. We tried the sample preparation, labeling and analysis for the detection of apoptosis, cell cycle or cell signaling also we tried out advanced data analysis in the new FlowJo software and in a very beneficial wet-lab „Build your own cytometer“ we experienced that it is possible to build a functional cytometer with a few components anywhere on a table.
This workshop was very helpful for all participants with different experience levels in cytometry and convinced us that after 3 days full of practice under the right guidance we can acquire more than from books and definitions.
