Molecular-genetic screening

Our laboratory performs the following types of molecular-genetic testing:

  • screening of childhood and adult ALL for the presence of fusion genes TEL/AML1, BCR/ABL, MLL/AF4,PBX1/E2A using multiplex RT-PCR
  • screening of infant leukaemias, M4- and M5-subtype childhood AML’s and adult ALL’s for the presence of the rearrangement of the MLL gene (MLL/AF4; MLL/AF6; MLL/AF9; MLL/AF10; MLL/ENL; MLL/ELL); using multiplex RT-PCR
  • monitoring of minimal residual disease using clonal-specific rearrangements of Ig/TCR in children during initial ALL treatment, in children with relapsing ALL, in children with ALL before and during transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells, and in adults with ALL treated by the GMALL protocol.
  • testing for Ig/TCR clonality lymphocytes in the systems IGH, IGK, TCRG, TCRD and TCRB (only in children patients treated at the Clinic Of Paediatric Haematology And Oncology,MotolUniversityHospital)
  • quantification of the BCR/ABL fusion gene in children with ALL treated by the Es-PhALL protocol, in children with ALL before and during transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells, and in adult ALL patients; using RT-PCR
  • quantification of the TEL/AML1 fusion gene in children with ALL before and during transplantation of haematopoietic stem cells; using RT-RQ-PCR
  • quantification of the MLL/AF4; MLL/AF6; MLL/AF9; MLL/AF10; MLL/ENL; MLL/ELL fusion genes; using RQ-PCR and RT-RQ-PCR
  • testing for the faktoru V Leiden mutation and mutation of the prothrombin gene in children treated for haematological or oncological conditions at Clinic Of Paediatric Haematology And Oncology.
  • processing and cryogenic preservation of samples from children patients with haematological conditions
  • isolation of nucleid acids from children with haematological conditions
